Synopsis

This five-piece girl band, The Sex Pissed Dolls, has already achieved iconic status in the neo-punk sub-culture. Technical brilliance is just the start of the Dolls' attributes. From punk ska to dirty rock and beyond, their musical eclecticism across these genres has generated a hugely passionate and ever-growing horde of followers. Their 2015 UK 'Never Needed Bollockstour was a huge success with major venues across the UK sold out. Followed in 2016 by the 'Daughters Of Anarchy' tour, the Dolls are slated to open the Isle of Wight music festival in the summer, with dates at Glastonbury and headlnlng the British F1 Grand Prix at Brands Hatch to follow.

This is the story of their rise and rise through the indie rock scene. It's also the tale of how five young women are taking control of a previously very male-dominated musical sub-culture.

Extract

The Sex Pissed Dolls  have come a long way from their original conception (a brilliant late-night, drunken idea - it still seemed pretty good the next morning). Nancy Doll, the band’s front girl, along with Connie Rotter, Jilly Idol, Anna Key and Kitty Vacant, form the band, brought together by their manager Paul Smith (absolutely no relation to the designer - just check out the dress sense...) and his ideas for a mixed sound influenced by The Sex Pistols, Sham 69, The Jam and Stiff Little Fingers. After an hilariously rocky start, the band has attracted a large and ever-increasing following of the faithful, and has come a very long way since its first performance in May 2014.

The Dolls' passion for edgy music, combined with their edgier attitudes, not only ensures that they complement each other well, but makes them endlessly entertaining. Proof of this can be found in an ever-growing fan base, messages of support from the likes of Mick Jagger and Iggy Pop, and a booking schedule that includes a UK-wide tour for 2016, with two festivals in the diary for the summer of 2016 alone. The Dolls will open the Isle of Wight festival in 2016.

Although currently they perform cover songs - their own takes on iconic punk and rock classics - they are currently putting together an album of original material.

So here we go – if you want, it vote for it: The Sex Pissed Dolls' very own story, a real-life mockumentary in words and pictures - The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swin-Doll!
